When it comes to the Bruce Highway Interchange upgrade (Deception Bay - New Settlement Rd), I think the pictures are worth a thousand (or 5000) words!

It is AMAZING to witness the different stages of the Dakabin Station Accessibility Upgrade project - especially the way QR manages to keep the station open most of the time! Last month, I got to see the new footbridge go in and the preparation for pouring concrete in the new carpark.

The Petrie Intersection Upgrade construction contract has been awarded - congratulations to Ertech (Queensland) Pty Ltd!
The project is expected to be completed early next year (weather permitting) with the majority of works to be undertaken at night. Commuters should expect short term pain in the form of temporary lane closures, reduced speed limits, traffic control and changes to local parking.
Let us all try to be patient this year and focus on the long term gain we'll get from fixing this terrible traffic bottleneck!

Up the Mighty Bears!
On February 5, the first modules of the Bears' new changerooms were craned in to Mathieson Park. This marked a huge milestone in a project I, along with Moreton Bay Regional Councillor Mick Gillam (Division 8) and the mighty Pine Rivers Bears, have been working hard to make a reality for a couple of years.
You can watch the video on the @pineriversbears facebook page.

Meet local author, M.C. Stephens
I've been getting around to as many P&C meetings and I can and this year, I'm donating a copy of The Eagle and the Beautiful Game, written by our very own local author Matthew Stephens (pictured) to each of our State primary schools.
Hopefully these schools can find a place for this book in their libraries to remind students that creativity, literacy, inspiration, passion, commitment and hard work can take you a long way!
You can read a little bit about M.C. Stephens on the platforms that sell his book such as: Amazon - https://www.amazon.com.au/Eagle-Beautiful.../dp/178465745X
and Pegasus - https://pegasuspublishers.com/authors/mc-stephens .
I'm sure the Narangba Eagles are all very proud of Matthew too, after he took inspiration partly from his experiences at the club.

The Goldie Cup
And more from the Eagles Nest... It was great to get down to the Goldie Cup on 27 February to support the club's fundraising for Nathan Goldstiver, who suffers from Motor Neurone Disease. The day was a great success, raising around $6500 to help Goldie and his family.
